KCSU DJ Profile
Hilbig
Issue date: 10/22/09 Section: Verve
Time: Tuesdays from 7 to 9 p.m.
Show: The RAMblers Sports Talk Show and play-by-play for the Rams volleyball team.
Real name: Ryan Hilbig
Major: Social studies education
Years at KCSU: 3 years
Q: Why should somebody listen to your show?
A: We don't play any music. Just four guys talking sports, the way radio was meant to be. Just kidding. The only reason to tune in is to listen to my co-hosts Bosh, B-Money and Sebesta.
Q: Favorite music genre(s)?
A: My parents taught me that music is the Devil's work, so I don't listen to music. My job in life is to bring sports talk to the soulless masses. I'm actually a pretty big fan of every thing -- from metal to hip-hop to dance to country (blame my roommate for the last one).
Q: What's your favorite album right now?
A: Well, I have been listening to the new Pretty Lights album almost nonstop, but I have also been getting into the Black Keys lately, as well.
Q: What's your favorite artist or album of all time?
A: The Rolling Stones, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Eric Clapton and Lil Wayne.
Q: Where do you see yourself in five years?
A: Probably teaching in some po-dunk town and hopefully coaching basketball, too.
Q: Favorite concert this year?
A: Since I'm a sports guy, I'm changing it to favorite sports event. Hmm … that's a tough one Ryan ... Well being on the field after the CSU/CU game was pretty epic. Game four of NLDS would have been it had Huston Street not broken my heart.
