ELBERT, Colo. (AP) - The National Weather Service says a "large and extremely dangerous" tornado has been detected near the town of Elbert, about 40 miles southeast of Denver.

A second tornado was reported Monday about five miles southwest of Fort Collins or 50 miles north of Denver.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.

Forecasters say the Elbert-area tornado was detected on radar and the Fort Collins-area tornado was reported by trained spotters.
