The CSU tennis team was swept by the TCU Horned Frogs Thursday, 4-0, knocking the Rams out of the Mountain West Conference tournament and ending their season.

Head coach Jon Messick was happy with his team's performance against the TCU juggernaut.

"We played really well today," he said. "The last time we played them we had one close set in the whole match, and that was pretty much it. Today, we had close matches at the No. 3 and No. 4 singles. We won our first sets, and we had a match point at No. 4. We were really giving them a tough match at the middle of the lineup, which we didn't do last time."

The Rams came into the tournament as the seventh seed in the conference, matching them up with No. 2 seed (No. 29 nationally) TCU.

"The TCU lineup was a lot stronger this time," Messick said. "… I am very proud of the team. We played against a tougher lineup. We didn't like that we lost, but we showed great improvement and the ability to play against a top team."

With the loss, the Rams finish the season with an 8-13 record, 2-7 in the MWC.
