23 days since higher education was put in peril

On April 1, the Joint Budget Committee of the Colorado legislature proposed a $300 million cut to higher education and increased the authority of institutions to increase tuition.

The state House of Representatives has approved a new package of bills to avoid cutting extensively from higher education and the bill will return to the Senate for approval.

While the crisis is not nearly as dire, the Collegian editorial board would still like to encourage you to contact your representatives and let them know where you stand on how the state should fund higher ed.
