DENVER - A group of former Rocky Mountain News reporters and editors is announcing a new effort to deliver news online.
The Web site http://indenvertimes.com/ says that if the group meets its goal of raising 50,000 pledges of at least $4.99 a month by April 23, it will launch an online publication.
The site says, "It's an investment, one worth $4.99 a month to encourage a bold, creative effort to continue a vision based on a 150-year Denver tradition."
A news conference is scheduled Monday morning.
The E.W. Scripps Co. last month shut down the nearly 150-year-old News, citing mounting losses.
