The CSU swimming and diving team finished off its regular season with a win on Saturday.

The Rams' (10-4, 6-2 MWC) come-from-behind win over border rival Wyoming (11-4, 3-4 MWC) gave them an opportunity to land second in the Mountain West going into the Conference Championship. The Rams beat the visiting Cowgirls 174-126.

With the win and a Utah loss, compliments of first-place BYU, the Rams clinched second place. But the win didn't come easily. Wyoming started out by leading in the first five events, but outstanding individual performances allowed the Rams to take the lead and finish off with the win.

"We got off to kind of a shaky start," said head coach John Mattos. "They just kept on rolling. We had some great efforts."

Jen Muniz was a large part of the win, swimming personal bests in two events. Diver Nicole Kelley also attributed to the win by winning the 3-meter dive, beating a Wyoming diver who was undefeated on the 3-meter in conference meets.

The Rams will rest for the next couple of weeks before they travel to the conference championship in Oklahoma on Feb. 25.

"Now we have two-and-a-half weeks to really breathe a sigh of relief and get things together," Mattos said.
