The CSU women's water polo team opened their season on a high note over the weekend, running away with the championship in the inaugural Colorado Cup Tournament. The Rams outscored their opponents by a combined 69-6 margin and picked up wins over Colorado College and conference foe Air Force along the way.

The exhibition tournament started Saturday with a win over the CSU women's club water polo team, 22-0. That night the Rams topped CC 28-4 before handling AFA 19-2 on Sunday.

"We still have a ways to go," said assistant coach Mike Moody in a written release, "but we're headed in the right direction. We're going to win some games this season."

The Rams will be off for the next couple months before officially opening their season in the Michigan Kickoff Tournament in Ann Arbor, Mich. on Jan. 24.
