Student votes continues to exceed past turnout

Student government had another record second-day vote Tuesday as over 1,900 electronic ballots came in, making for a total of 4,419, bringing the number nearly within four percent of the university's stretch goal of 25 percent, said Emily Laue, the elections director for the Associated Students of CSU.
More freshmen have voted so far this year than in past elections carrying 1,096 of the total number.
"They usually have the lowest voter turn out," Laue said.
Senior voting has also seen a shifting trend this year as they have voted the least of any demographic beside graduate students. Usually seniors make up the highest voter turnout. Senior votes totaled 942.
Laue said if student keep voting in consistent numbers, the university will greatly exceed the 25 percent stretch goal.
