LTTE: Lack of dignity
Issue date: 9/24/07 Section: Opinion
I am in disgust at the editorial board's lack of dignity, presented in bold letters Friday on their views of Bush.
It seems to me that all views on professional journalism have flown out the window, and have been replaced with voluntary disregard for appropriate expression of personal views.
I don't care if you're Republican, Democratic, Libertarian, or Green - we need to drop the sophomoric overtones, and try to live up to the standard of being an academic paper, and not a off-color rant.

I would ask you, then, what is "appropriate" expression of personal views? Who defines it? Conservatives? Liberals? Society? You?
We live in a society that professes freedom, and the cornerstone of that is freedom of speech and the press. (Continued…)

They posted a big "Taser This: FUCK GEORGE BUSH" in the college newspaper. Now a ton of sponsors refuse to contribute to CSU. I cannot believe that the student newspaper would print something that would lower the overall integrity of an entire university. (Continued…)

Some perspective:
The University was very quick to state that they had no right to censor the paper.
Bill Ritter did not send troops to arrest members of the editorial board. (Continued…)

People! People!
Editorials are BIASED, by the nature of their definition, they are an OPINION. How many comments are going to be made about how the editor should keep his political views out of the paper, that's exactly where politcial views belong!!!
Printing something that might risk sponsorship should not stop the paper from printing it if the social times call for it. (Continued…)
