In Luci Storelli-Castro's last column she expressed dismay in the current legislation that will protect individuals whom have been assaulted from law suits, filed by their assailants or their families, for defending them self's. I fail to see any logic against this bill other presented by Ms. Castro other than people can use guns and guns are scary. Might I remind you that the even the Dalai Lama said in a May 15, 2001, interview with The Seattle Times, "If someone has a gun and is trying to kill you, it would be reasonable to shoot back with your own gun." Every American has a right to defend them self's, if your attacker knows that you are willing to defend your life with deadly force and still attacks you they have communicated effectively their intentions. This law will not bring about and "show downs at O'K corral" but will make Colorado safer because criminals will not have a second chance to attack their victims in the court room. I would also like to challenge you, Ms. Castro, to learn about firearms and their practicality for self defense. I will be more than willing to teach you or any one else who is willing to learn.
