In response to Our View
Issue date: 10/13/05 Section: Opinion>>Letters to the Editor
In the Tuesday edition of what used to be "Our View," the Collegian's editorial board asked the following question: "Since when is it reasonable for a president to consider taking care of his country a distraction?"
When I read the quote from the Senior White House official, the "distractions in recent months" were never articulated. Is it possible that the administration doesn't consider natural disasters a distraction?
Could the administration have been referring to the indictment of Tom Delay, the SEC's investigation into a stock sale by Bill Frist and Karl Rove's testimony in regards to the CIA leak?
It seems like you may have translated the word "distractions" rather loosely.
