Rocking her baby girl back and forth in the back of the church, Ashley Griffin's 2-year-old daughter Saleah didn't seem to be getting better after several days of looking ill. Born with Down syndrome and two heart defects, Griffin figured it was nothing worse than usual.
Students leave pets behind when leases, semester end

As classes end and leases expire, dogs and cats in Fort Collins are taking a backseat to many college students' vacation and summer job plans leaving domestic pets abandoned with little or no care on the streets and in vacant rentals. Local animal rescue organizations are left with the burden of caring for and finding homes for these forgotten pets, which is especially difficult for no-kill, small capacity rescues, such as the Fort Collins Cat Rescue and Animal House Rescue & Grooming.
Student orgs lost in campus-wide shuffle

A campus-wide reorganization of offices has been arranged for next semester with the purpose of improving accessibility, but student organizations involved in the swap say they're unsatisfied with the end result. This summer, the Visitors Center, along with Admissions offices in Spruce Hall and Routt Hall, will relocate to Ammons Hall to take offices alongside the Admissions Welcome Center, forming what will be known as the Welcome & Visitor's Center.

CENTENNIAL-- Lawyers are expected to make their closing arguments Friday in the trial of a man accused of killing two CSU graduates, including a witness who was scheduled to testify against him. Sir Mario Owens could face the death penalty if convicted of first-degree murder in the June 2005 shooting deaths of Javad Marshall-Fields and Vivian Wolfe, both 22.
